About Jenbacher

The history of Austrian company Jenbacher starts from smeltery, founded by the richest man at that time – Jacob Fugger in 1487. Fugger family started engine production in 1948 and already in 1957 the first example of gas engine was introduced. The production of gas piston power plants is situated in Jenbach, Tyrol federal state, Austria. In 2003 the company joined General Electric, becoming a branch of this world giant - GE Jenbacher.

Jenbacher gas piston engines are known for their reliability and high level of efficiency. Total coefficient of efficiency of Jenbacher gas piston power plants (both electric and thermal) reaches 87%, which is a world record in this field, being an unachievable value for the competitors.
